Imagine Church is a creative, growing church plant with a big vision to help people in our community discover and live out God’s plan for their life. The primary purpose of this role will be to provide leadership to our volunteer teams and offer innovative and sustainable solutions for growth and discipleship.

This job is not for in-the-box thinkers or the faint of heart! At Imagine, we embrace change and meet challenges head on. We’re a portable church plant so you’re just as likely to be setting up chairs in the school auditorium where we meet as you are meeting with leaders or strategizing over coffee.

Church planting is not easy, and, to be perfectly honest, if you’re looking for a less challenging ministry position with more specific job responsibilities, there are plenty of more established churches out there with better pay and worship auditoriums you don’t have to set up and tear down every week. Imagine Church is located in Westfield, Indiana, a growing community on the north side of Indianapolis. Westfield is in Hamilton County – one of the top-20 fastest-growing counties in the country. YOU WILL BE:

• Assisting in leadership and administration of Imagine Church in order to develop leaders and volunteers
• Needed to complement the strengths of the Lead Pastor
• Regularly communicating with people across a variety of platforms
• Setting up and overseeing our church management system to engage our guests, attenders and volunteers
• Overseeing the development, growth and vitality of our Life Groups
• Asked to deliver relevant, Biblical messages every 5-7 weeks as part of a teaching team
• Responsible for improvement of on-going ministry processes
• Coordinating and overseeing 2-3 large outreach events a year such as our Easter Egg Drop and July 4^th Festival

IT WOULD ROCK IF YOU:

• Appreciate good, fresh-roasted coffee (bonus points if you have your own French Press). Certain teas may also apply.
• Take your work seriously but not yourself (bonus points if you’ve ever pranked a co-worker…extra points if you posted it on YouTube)

JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES: 

• In conjunction with the Senior Pastor provide significant input in vision casting and goal setting for the church
• In conjunction with the Senior Pastor support the church through planning and staff coordination in execution of the vision and goals
•  Assist the staff in developing new ministry programs
•  Ensure staffing, facilities and programs are appropriately and effectively aligned to best meet our strategic goals
•  Oversee the preparation of annual ministry plans by the staff; avoid duplicated efforts, and champion appropriate resourcing of initiatives
•  Assist in developing an annual budget that accurately reflects our priorities, key initiatives, and mission
•  Provide leadership recruitment, encouragement, and training for teams and individuals, including Elder training, pipeline leadership development, internships, etc.
•  Provide coaching to the staff, Elders, and lay leaders in the areas of leadership, vision, and personal growth
•  Mentor the staff by spending time with them, providing direction, challenging them to growth, listening to concerns, and encouraging their growth in Christ
•  Oversee the process of recruiting, selection, training, development, evaluation and termination of present and future staff as well as many volunteer team leaders
•  Identify needs and raise up leaders to meet those needs, helping to empower and recruit for key tasks
•  Coordinate staff meetings and other activities designed to clarify and execute goals, objectives, and programs
•  Serve on the personnel committee
•  Provide leadership to the staff in the design and implementation of their annual ministry plans
•   Preach and teach as requested

•  A four-year degree from an accredited University or College
•  A minimum of 2 years’ experience with successful Small Groups program in a church with a weekly attendance of at least 500

Your job will be to facilitate a worship lifestyle in the large group gatherings, small group gatherings and the lives of the members of the church. For now that means leading worship with the large group, working with the planting pastor to develop series and worship plans and building a team of people to lead in worship.

We love the theology of the hymns and the sounds of modern music. We are looking to develop a sound that is suited to our city and speaks in a language they can understand.

The Journey Fellowship campus of OHC launched with 70 people in the spring of 2005.  From the beginning, Journey has been known for its casual environment and its commitment to reaching the unchurched with the gospel of Christ and seeing their lives changed forever.  Hallmarks of Journey Fellowship include the casual connection center of the JF coffee house and the JF worship center with its unique combination of chairs, bistro tables, and couches.

POSITION PROFILE

The Student Minister will serve as the key leader and communicator of student ministries at the Journey Fellowship Campus of Oak Hills Church.  The ideal candidate will have a track record of building and growing a student ministry, being an excellent communicator, and bringing an innovative mindset to leadership and problem solving. The ideal candidate will be creative, energetic, technologically advanced, and possess the ability to motivate others. They will be expected to work with Student Ministry leadership from Oak Hills Church to enhance programs already in place and create new initiatives as well.  Building a ministry where students are growing in faith, maturity, and influence would be the centerpiece of the position. The effective student minister will help our ministry grow measurably in the number of students participating weekly as our campus and community continue to grow.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build a strong growingministry to Jr. High and High School students and their families.
• Lead and cast vision for an outreach-oriented student ministry committed to reaching the unreached and equipping believers.
• Serve together with the Journey Fellowship staff team in a creative, fun, collaborative and team-oriented environment.
• Responsible for the recruiting, training and mentoring a team of volunteers who serve the Jr. High and High School Ministry.
• Responsible for the hiring, growth and development of a Student Ministry Intern who will serve for a 12 month period (June-May)
• Build a student ministry that is highly intentional about equipping parents and partnering with them to strengthen the family as the focal point of discipleship
• Responsible for ministry development, resourcing and oversight of the student (grades 6-12) ministries including the related calendar and budget preparation and coordination
• Responsible for evangelistic and community outreach ministries and related discipleship events for students including local, regional and international mission trip planning and implementation.
