Job Description
Overall responsibility: Northpoint Church is a strategic, results oriented church focused on leading people of all ages into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Northpoint is currently looking for a full-time children’s ministry director. The primary responsibility for this position is leading and facilitating our NP Kids Gather, Grow, & Go ministry at all Northpoint Church campuses. The Ministry Director will be given freedom to create and develop solutions that further the vision of our church. This is an ideal position for the person who is passionate about kids, can build teams, and energize people by effectively ministering to children from birth through 5th grade; providing a compelling atmosphere of worship, teaching, and child care at weekly gatherings and special events. Key areas of responsibility:
- Provide vision and leadership for what Children’s Ministry will do now and will become in the future
- Lead our Leaders — Recruit and care for volunteers: Train, Recruit, Monitor, Support, Place
- Direct and organize weekly programs, child care and periodic special events
- Effectively assimilate new kids at our programs
- Expand Children’s Ministries to reach more children living or attending schools around each Northpoint campus. (EXCELLENT GO!)
- Help meet the needs of parents by providing resources for parents: Equipping Parents to help lead their kids into a growing relationship with Jesus (EXCELLENT GROW!)
- Excellent kids environment (space) (EXCELLENT GATHER!)
- Connect with public and private elementary schools
- Develop, plan, and organize special events like Day Camps, Family Fun events, seminars, conferences, field trips that build community outside of weekly gatherings on a monthly basis
- Develop annual plan with time line and budget
- Track progress with time line spreadsheet, weekly score card and monthly report
- Develop relationships in the surrounding area of all of our Campuses and build relevant programs for kids and families in those areas.
- Build teams to work with all children’s areas (birth to 5th grade)
- Recruit and organize volunteer scheduling for weekly kids gatherings
Consults with:
- Direct Report
- All department heads as needed
- Volunteers
- Outside vendors and consultants
Term of employment: Until otherwise designated Qualifications:
- Experience: This position requires a positive attitude, high organizational strengths, a relational people person, a love for the community, a willingness to live in and immerse yourself within this community, an ability to plan and execute events, and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be experienced in leading teams, throwing parties and be crazy about helping people find Jesus. At least 2 years of leading ministry to children birth thru 5th grade, with a commitment of seeking to grow in that area through further training.
- Skills:
- Effective public speaking in small and large venues
- Significant Bible knowledge
- Sensitive to the Holy Spirit in the course of leading an organization for the purpose of Christian ministry
- The ability to provide instruction to volunteer leaders for discipleship, small groups, evangelism, worship, and Christ centered leadership.
- Ability to create video and slide presentations and/or over see someone who does
- The ability to facilitate Spiritual leadership, unity, love, and harmony for all volunteer team members
- Must be computer literate, have excellent communication skills, good at multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines
- Must attend a Life Group
- An ability to plan and deliver creative events and environments for kids
- A team player who is a lifelong learner
- A willingness to work 50+ hours a week when needed
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proven ability to lead and grow teams
- A passion for evangelism and reaching both churched and unchurched kids
- Ability to connect with high level leaders
- Ability to connect and care for families
